Welder resume: what this week’s postings actually ask for.
We pulled live welder postings on Oct 25, 2026, read them line by line, and counted what employers asked for. Use it to check your resume against the real thing.

Pay and titles in this week’s welder postings.
These are the ten postings one Indeed search returned on Oct 25, 2026. They are a snapshot, not the whole market, and pay is shown exactly the way employers posted it.
$15 to $32 an hour on welder postings, the low end a part-time TIG role; two mixed welder-and-laborer jobs are left out of the range.
8 of the 10 postings listed pay. Ranges are the lowest and highest figures we saw, not an average.
- Welder
- TIG Welder
- Welder - Structural
- Welder Fabricator - 1st and 2nd Shift
- Flux Core Welder

Same work. Said like it counts.
Most welder resumes describe the job. Hiring managers look for the scale and the result. Here is the move, on one line.
Welded metal parts in a shop.
MIG welded 12 to 18 gauge sheet steel and fit parts from blueprints in a fabrication shop, about 30 frames a shift; checked dimensions with a tape and calipers and kept my station clean and safe.
Illustrative example. It shows the method; it is not a real person’s resume.
Use your own numbers. If you do not know a figure, leave it out. A guessed number can cost you the interview.
What recruiters scan for first.
A first pass on a resume is quick. These five things should be easy to find in that time, ideally in the top third of the page.
- Each process by name: MIG, TIG, flux core, stick. All three postings we read in full named MIG.
- Metals and thickness: carbon steel, stainless, aluminum, sheet gauge or structural.
- Blueprints and weld symbols: two of the three postings asked for them.
- Measuring: tape, calipers, fractions. All three wanted it.
- Any certification, and say you are ready for a weld test. Two postings test you.
Start with the kit. Add the Sundays if you want them.
Every option is paid once. Nothing bills you again, and if the kit isn’t right you have a week to tell us and we fix it.
The kit
- Your resume, rebuilt for the role
- Readiness Scorecard, with three next moves
- Interview prep for that exact job
- Seven days of free revisions
The bundle
- Everything in the Iron kit
- Plus four Sundays of The Range, from the same upload
- One form, one payment, $9 less than buying both
The weekly drip
- Four Sunday-morning emails
- Up to five roles a week, posted that week, in your area
- Each scored against your resume, with a cover letter written only from it
- Never a repeat; a week with nothing worth sending doesn’t use a Sunday
After you pay you go straight to one short upload form. Paid through Stripe. Your statement reads CADDIE* CAREER.
When your four Sundays are up, your last Range email offers four more for $15. It’s a link, not a renewal. Listings can close without notice, and we never promise interviews or offers.
Welder resume questions.
Do I need a welding certification?
One of the three postings we read in full called certifications a plus but not required. The other two did not ask. Two of the three gave a hands-on weld test instead. If you have a cert, list it with the process and position.
I only know MIG. Is that enough?
One posting hired entry to midlevel welders for MIG on thin sheet steel. The other two also asked for TIG, and the structural one asked for flux core and stick too. List only what you can run.
Should I mention the tools I use?
Yes. All three postings asked for grinders, saws or hand and power tools, and one listed plasma cutters, calipers and micrometers. Name the ones you use.
Does math matter for a welder job?
All three postings asked for measuring. One asked for fraction and decimal conversions, another for shop math. Say you measure and fit to the drawing.
Do I need my own gear?
One posting said to bring your own welding helmet and safety boots. All three asked you to follow safety rules and use PPE.
Nearby roles.
Skills carry between jobs more than titles suggest. If you are weighing a move, the guides for electrician and warehouse associate resumes use the same method on their own postings, and so do the ones for truck driver and delivery driver roles. Every guide we have built is listed on the resume guides page.
