Pay and titles in this week’s customer service representative postings.

These are the ten postings one Indeed search returned on Oct 7, 2026. They are a snapshot, not the whole market, and pay is shown exactly the way employers posted it.

Pay, as posted

$20 to $24 an hour on hourly postings; $51,000 to $125,000 a year on salaried ones.

9 of the 10 postings listed pay. Ranges are the lowest and highest figures we saw, not an average.

One line, rewritten

Same work. Said like it counts.

Most customer service representative resumes describe the job. Hiring managers look for the scale and the result. Here is the move, on one line.

Before

Answered customer calls and emails and resolved issues.

After

Handled 60–70 calls and emails a day in Zendesk, processed returns and refunds, and held a 92% satisfaction score over two quarters.

Illustrative example. It shows the method; it is not a real person’s resume.

Use your own numbers. If you do not know a figure, leave it out. A guessed number can cost you the interview.

The first read

What recruiters scan for first.

A first pass on a resume is quick. These five things should be easy to find in that time, ideally in the top third of the page.

  1. Channels you worked: phone, email, chat, text.
  2. Volume per day or per week.
  3. The tools you used, named: Zendesk, Salesforce, Shopify.
  4. A quality measure, like satisfaction score, first-contact resolution, or QA rating, if your team tracked one.
  5. How you handled escalations, in one concrete line.

Straight answers

Customer service representative resume questions.

What metrics belong on a customer service resume?

Daily volume plus one quality measure your team actually tracked, such as CSAT, first-contact resolution, or a QA score. If your job did not track one, describe the volume and the types of problems you solved.

Is retail experience relevant?

Yes. Two of the three postings we read named retail or e-commerce directly. Translate it: the questions you answered, the returns you processed, the upset customers you calmed.

Should I list typing speed?

Only if a posting asks for it. None of the three we read did. The tools and channels you have worked in matter more.
