job guides it draws on
  1. 01We match the ad to one of our 25 role guides and look for that guide’s skills, plus phrases the ad repeats.
  2. 02The most important ones become the ad’s key terms. Licenses and tools rank first.
  3. 03Your resume is searched for each one, including common word forms. Headings and contact details are skipped.
  4. 04Your score is the share of key terms your resume already says. No AI, no guessing.
A word check, not a judge of your experience. It cannot tell if a bullet is strong, only whether the words are there.
The check

Paste both. Then press check.

Use the whole ad, requirements included, and the plain text of your resume. Copying from a PDF or Word file works fine; the formatting does not matter.

Title, duties and requirements. The more of the ad, the better the read.

0 words

Plain text is fine. Leave out your phone number and address if you like; the check does not need them.

Your resume never leaves your browser. The check runs on this page. Nothing you paste is uploaded, saved or tracked.

Straight answers

About the check.

Is my resume stored or sent anywhere?

No. The check is a small script on this page. Your text stays in your browser tab and is gone when you close it. We do not save it, upload it, or run it through an AI model.

Where do the skills come from?

From our resume guides. For each of 25 jobs we read live postings and counted what employers asked for. The check looks for those skills in the ad you paste, and adds phrases the ad itself repeats.

What is a good score?

There is no magic number. Above about 70 percent, the words are mostly there and the work is making the bullets show results. Below 40 percent, either the job is a stretch or your resume describes the same work in different words. The missing list tells you which.

My job is not one of the 25 guides. Does it still work?

Partly. Without a matching guide, the check uses only phrases the ad itself repeats, so the list is shorter and the score rougher. We say so on the result when that happens, and short ads may get no score at all.
